10 before 30 - Denmark and Netherland

After going to a couple of Games Workshop stores we came up with a personal travel and gaming challenge - to visit 10 different official GW shops in 10 different countries (and, of course, buy 40k stuff from each) before Cristi turns 30. We've been to three so far and there's one more coming up this year, so we've got three more years to punch out six more shops. Not bad, I'd say.

The first one was in Copenhagen, as part of our honeymoon trip to Sweden and Denmark in September of 2015. These guys had really cool terrain and window displays and they were very welcoming.Cristi got some Khorne data cards there - little luggage space - but managed to cram a Bloodthirster from Malmo (bought at Playoteket, a miniature and boardgames shop) on the plane.

Next was Amsterdam - they have two official stores here. We started with the less central one (Amsterdam South). People were playing, assembling miniatures and painting and we got to see some super crafty conversions (a huge aircraft pieced together with elements from several races and factions - the picture is blurry and does it no justice), handmade terrain elements and wicked brushwork. Their shop guy was a super nice guy we really enjoyed meeting and talking about 40k with. I guess that's when the seed of the idea of an Orkz army was first planted :P Also, Cristi got another Bloodthirster from here.

Amsterdam West is larger but a bit "colder". Or we just got there when there wasn't much action, don't know. This time a Forgefiend was purchased and we got a few more stamps on our little card that got us a Tzeentch die from the South store :D

And, recently, we took a train trip to Vienna (from Budapest) to get to the shop on Mariahilfe - Wien I (since it was a one day trip, Wien II was way out of our way), which was packed with people playing and painting. I almost got some black orcz (but I've been trying to compel myself to paint more by not buying stuff until I do the work) and Cristi bought a Vermin Lord, another miniature we've been ogling since Amsterdam. But I did get "Predator, Prey", the second book of "The Beast Arises" series, from the motherload of Viennese geek shops Damage Ultimited - they have new and second hand Sci-Fi, Fantasy, anime, you name it, books, boardgames, miniatures, cosplay and larp gear and clothing, collectibles, dice and so on. I loved it!

Next on the list is Cleveland, where Cristi is going this month. And next year we're thinking about Oslo.
