We moved to Norway

We moved to Norway! After many years, we managed to move to my dream country.

This story starts with a message from Lewis, asking me if I'm interested in a job in Oslo. Naturally I said yes. A few interviews later, I get an offer from the company. I was thrilled, I was smiling uncontrollably and jumping around the house. I quit my job the same day.

20 Days pass, my final working day was 26 of February and it was the day we were suppose to fly to Oslo, but Norway was hit hard by Corona and it has it's borders closed. The waiting game started...and it took 4 month until we were able to come to Norway.

Flight day finally arrived! I packed my PS5 and my Xbox One (the important stuff) and I was ready to GO! We would fly to Poland and from there to Norway. Midway to Oslo, we hear a message from the captain that we have some technical issues and the plane will return to Poland for repairs and refuel. Our 1 hour and 45 minutes flight turned into a 4 hours flight, but we made it to Oslo.

We search on Google maps for the name of the hotel (our first mistake), it seamed close, so we decided to walk (our second mistake as we had 4 large bags and one had shitty wheels so I had to drag it all the way). We arrive at our destination, we input the code at the door and it won't open. We gave it a few more tries, still nothing. We were at the wrong address. The company has a few buildings but uses different names for them.

We called an Uber and got to the correct place. 15 Minutes after we settled in, the fire alarm goes off. At 12 in the middle of the night the whole building was evacuated.

Even though it was a rough day, I was still happy, we managed to move to the country I felt most at home.

After the first day of work, first store I visited was Games Workshop. I got an Ork box, a metal pin and a Stormcast Eternal to paint for August competition.

On the second day we went to look for a place to rent. I first wanted to see a house on an island which is amazing, after work you feel like you go on holiday. As expected, we loved the place and the landlord accepted us as tenants. AWESOME!

Time to enjoy our new city.

A few days past, I go back to Games Workshop to receive the model of the month! Since I was not willing to wait, I also went to Outland and bought a painting set and Diana bought a leaf chonker.

Now the only thing left is to ship all our stuff over, which is a lot, but we will manage it in the end.

Pandemic Census

Ever since the pandemic started I wanted to check my miniature inventory. Today I finally had the mood to take everything out of their boxes. In 2016, I started collecting Warhammer miniatures. I bought a Dark Vengeance set which started my addiction. I gives me joy to own these toys and I relax painting them. I now have Chaos, Orks and Skaven and every Blood Bowl team that was relaunched. I sold the Tyranid army and I bought some Death Guard models. I have around 1200 models with the current cost of 11200 euros.
Note: I did not include miniatures from other boardgames.

Here is the list with everything I have:

May 2018 Loot

This month I bought a lot of loot, well some of it I have to paint it for somebody else but still it's nice to assemble and paint models from other armies.
I bought a box of Crypt Horrors, some models from Demigod (with these 2 I completed my Necromantic Blood Bowl team), The Doom Lords Blood Bowl team, 2 sets of dice for Blood Bowl, Ork Burnaz, Ork Kommandos (not in photo), Start collecting Orks (Deff Dread commissioned), T'au XV104 Riptide Battlesuit (to be commissioned), T'au AX39 Sun Shark Bomber (to be commissioned).

Ork Deff Dread

I commissioned this model for a colleague of mine and he asked me to paint it as the one on the GW web site. I assembled only melee weapons and glued on the base some cork, pebbles and sand.

Second converted Ork Trukk

I bought from ebay two incomplete Tau Devilfish so I can make some more Trukks. I bought a tractor for wheels. The rest are bits from the Gorkanaut and some plastic cards.

I dismantled the tractor, took the back wheels with the spinning mechanism and glued it inside the Devilfish. I didn't had a metal rod long enough to connect the front wheels, so I just cut in half the one they had. I drilled holes in where the drones were supposed to sit and glued the wheels. I covered one side with plastic, then glued a weapon on it. On the back I glued a force field from the Gorkanaut. I made some exhaust pipes from a plastic tube and glued them in the front. On the other side of the trukk I glued a Rhino door then covered the left space with plastic.

10 before 30: Hungary

On our way home from Prague we stopped in Budapest at our eight store. We managed to get to Gep-Haz store just before it closed.

10 before 30: Czech Republic

After Poland we headed to our seventh location which is Czech Republic. Our first stop in Prague was at Ogry Doupe. They also had a lot of miniatures, some Golden Daemon awards and a fair amount of space for playing. Here we bought an Ork Painboy.
