Maulerfiend

I just finished assembling and painting my Maulerfiend. I painted it in the Khorne Daemonkin color scheme. The model has magnetized weapons. Now I am one step closer to owning all the models.
It is the first model that I painted at the same time I was assembling it so I forgot to take pictures. I used Revel paints: Ferrari red, silver, gold, yellow, fluorescent orange and some Lidl paints: metal and black.

10 before 30: Cleveland edition

So here it is, number 4 on the list. The highlight of Cristi's business trip to the US. The shop attendant was really impressed how far he's travelled just to get a Maulerfiend so he looked around the shop for goodies to compliment his guest's purchase and he came up with a badge. The thing with US shops is they are the only ones more expensive than the GW website. Because you pay extra taxes at the register. Oh well, it was worth the trip to tick another one on the list. Oslo is most definitely next!

Forge World Khorne Daemon Prince

I managed to buy a Forge World Khorne Daemon Prince. This fucker is really annoying to assemble since you must glue every horn, tooth and spike.
I wanted to paint it in exact the same color scheme as the one on the web site, basically red and gold.
Painted the base with silver and the tubes with blue and washed with nuln oil everything.

Verminlord

In my opinion the Verminlord is the coolest model that can be found on the games workshop site so I bought one and I will use it as a Bloodthirster.
Since I will not play Age of Sigmar, I assembled the model with a scry-orb and a doomstar.

I chose to paint the model like one of my other Bloodthirsters, black skin, red armor and gold details.
I saw on the web a couple of images with Verminlords to find a nice color scheme for the horns and I ended up glazing them from black to bright brown. I also glazed the tail from black to purple.

I covered the horns and orb in gloss and this is how the finished model looks like:

10 before 30 - Denmark and Netherland

After going to a couple of Games Workshop stores we came up with a personal travel and gaming challenge - to visit 10 different official GW shops in 10 different countries (and, of course, buy 40k stuff from each) before Cristi turns 30. We've been to three so far and there's one more coming up this year, so we've got three more years to punch out six more shops. Not bad, I'd say.

The first one was in Copenhagen, as part of our honeymoon trip to Sweden and Denmark in September of 2015. These guys had really cool terrain and window displays and they were very welcoming.Cristi got some Khorne data cards there - little luggage space - but managed to cram a Bloodthirster from Malmo (bought at Playoteket, a miniature and boardgames shop) on the plane.

Next was Amsterdam - they have two official stores here. We started with the less central one (Amsterdam South). People were playing, assembling miniatures and painting and we got to see some super crafty conversions (a huge aircraft pieced together with elements from several races and factions - the picture is blurry and does it no justice), handmade terrain elements and wicked brushwork. Their shop guy was a super nice guy we really enjoyed meeting and talking about 40k with. I guess that's when the seed of the idea of an Orkz army was first planted :P Also, Cristi got another Bloodthirster from here.

Amsterdam West is larger but a bit "colder". Or we just got there when there wasn't much action, don't know. This time a Forgefiend was purchased and we got a few more stamps on our little card that got us a Tzeentch die from the South store :D

And, recently, we took a train trip to Vienna (from Budapest) to get to the shop on Mariahilfe - Wien I (since it was a one day trip, Wien II was way out of our way), which was packed with people playing and painting. I almost got some black orcz (but I've been trying to compel myself to paint more by not buying stuff until I do the work) and Cristi bought a Vermin Lord, another miniature we've been ogling since Amsterdam. But I did get "Predator, Prey", the second book of "The Beast Arises" series, from the motherload of Viennese geek shops Damage Ultimited - they have new and second hand Sci-Fi, Fantasy, anime, you name it, books, boardgames, miniatures, cosplay and larp gear and clothing, collectibles, dice and so on. I loved it!

Next on the list is Cleveland, where Cristi is going this month. And next year we're thinking about Oslo.

"Chaos exists in a state of permanent victory over you - you dance to our tune, mortal one" (Ghargatuloth, Daemon Prince of Tzeentch)

Chaos Renegade Knight

I bought an Imperial Knights: Renegade box , using the instructions from games workshop and the color schemes from the imperial knight codex, I painted and converted the imperial to a Khorne Daemonkin Knight Errant.

I assembled the body and mounted it with a Thermal Cannon and a Reaper Chainsword and I chromed it with spray paint.

I painted the armor with Ferrari red from Revel and a mat black.
I continued on the body with 2 coats of nuln oil, I added all the spikes and tentacles and painted all the details.

I used gold to paint the rest of the armor and assembled it on the body.
To make him a real Chaos Knight I mounted a herald on top of him and added o trophy rack on his back.
